Who cares? How to create engagement in the future

Who, for what purpose and how will people engage in altruistic actions in the future? It has long been said that voluntary engagement is extinguishing. And many associations in Sweden argue that it is difficult or even impossible to get people to stand up on particular actions. Meanwhile, official figures show that the people themselves say they are almost as active as before. And engagement in forums other than the traditional voluntary sectors increases. From physical demonstrations mobilized via Facebook to the fact that individuals take on abandoned public parks and take care of them without any economic compensation. So the question is whether the alleged engagement decrease is mainly about the death of social movements or whether there is genuine truth behind the alarms.
