Today's science fiction – tomorrow's reality

Metropolis, Gattaca, iRobot and AI. Although science fiction is often a scorned part of culture, science fiction literature and films throughout history have often had the ability to predict the future long before it becomes reality. Not rarely, science fiction writers have managed to capture the interpersonal aspects in existence as well as ethically interesting dilemmas that occur in the wake of technological breakthroughs. What is today's science fiction about and in what way does it give us a glimpse of the future?
