"Is there a future for honesty" or "Who in the world can you trust"?

Trust is the foundation of all interpersonal systems and societies and has very strong connection with the sense of inclusion and participation. Today, trust in large companies is falling to record low levels in many parts of the world, while confidence in the state is even lower. In the Nordic countries, figures are not that alarming yet. But what happens when social security systems are no longer delivering, media images of a tax-planning elite are gaining momentum and world citizens' global solidarity becomes "public enemy number one" among nationalists. The tendency towards a shift from sustainability and everyday honesty to relativism and vague corruption limits shows that we may have taken our basic trust for granted.
