This Swedish study “ Swedish attitudes towards electric and plug–in hybrid cars” consists of a web survey of 1292 respondents between the ages of 25 to 65 years. The collection of data took place in October and November 2008 and was part of a larger infrastructural study that Kairos Future, an international research and consulting agency that helps companies understand and shape their futures, made together with Elforsk in Sweden, which was finished in March 2009. When this survey took place, there were not much discussions about the electric car development in the media. Nor were there any visible collaboration between large companies – as we can see today. Electric cars and plug in hybrids was just not something the consumers could relate so much too. So what was the study all about, what has happened since then and what will be important to think about in the future?
