Good Management – For Real
The manager and the management in the company are vital when it comes to liking your workplace. This is shown in Kairos Futures latest work life-survey, “Generation Ambition”, where the trust in your immediate supervisor turns out to be crucial both in order to like your workplace but we also see connections to good achievements and the likeliness to shift job.
Those who like their jobs are those who can influence, feel that they get affirmation and are committed. Once again it is underlined how important the “soft issues” are in order to create happy employees. Except for the three, above mentioned, factors today’s employees also think it is important to feel that they trust their supervisor. Good relations between supervisor and co-workers are one of the most important factors if you want your employees to be satisfied with their work and stay there.
So then, what distinguishes the good ones from the bad ones when it comes to bosses? It is mainly about being authentic all the way through - not only try to show how good you are through grandiose visions and by presenting all your big CSR-projects.
Young employees go where they like it the best and it is not sufficient to offer them a high salary and interesting tasks. As an employer you are also required to have good values that you actually can, and have the guts to, live up to and you also need to let your employees grow and develop.
Brands, both facing the customer and the employee, are getting more and more important. Many want to build a story about the good company. Those who fake their goodness are going to get disclosed. The companies that are good for real and stand up for their beliefs and values are those who will attract the right competence and be prosperous on today’s harsh economic market.
